Gentian Violet

This is what happens when you take your baby outside in March without a coat on:

Actually, Reese has a minor case of thrush, and the doctor suggested we use Gentian Violet rather than the prescription Nystatin, because it is a two dose cure rather than a 4 times a day for a couple weeks cure. Reese was making a funny face while I painted it in her mouth, but then was all smiles. I tasted it and it is GROSS, but she didn't seem to mind too much. She has had it in her mouth for about 24 hours now and her lips are still a bit purple, but it no longer looks like she chewed through a pen.If you have seen Pee-wee Herman's Big Adventure, this may remind you of when Pee-wee gives Francis Buxton ink gum and it dies his mouth dark like this.
