Sick Day

Reese is having a hard time getting in that 2nd tooth. So we stayed home today. She had a fever yesterday and again this morning. Her cheeks and nose are all rosey and sort of chapped, kinda weird - I'm guessing it is linked to the fever. She decided at 4 am this morning that she was too sad to sleep (I even tried putting her in our bed but she would cry when I'd lay her down.) So from about 4:30-6 she sat in our bed looking at her dad as he'd make his sleeping noises (deep breathing etc :)) She's been pretty sad today, I feel bad for her, I know how not fun it is to feel yucky. Hopefully that tooth will pop through tonight....or soon, because it is sad to see her not feeling well. Papa and Grandma gave Reese these cute monkey jammies yesterday. There is nothing like a little body in fuzzy jamms. Thanks mom and dad! We love them!!
She's a charmer as soon as the camera comes out. 1 minute before this she was wimpering, then I pulled the camera out and she started posing and smiling. SO funny!

She did NOT like getting her temperature taken. And she is strong! I don't think I even got a correct reading because she is such a squirmer. I let her play with the thermometer case to help her cheer up.
P.S. Eric got set apart on Sunday, so it is safe to spill the beans (or not spill since I'm allowed to say it). He is the Elders Quorum President (Sorry Lindsay - not in the bishopric), and believe you me, he has got his work cut out for him. I'm so grateful for him and the good guy he is. I know he is going to be a great EQ Pres and I'm excited to support him in this [intense] calling. He called some really cool guys as counselors, one of his very best friends Travis Naffziger, and another friend in the ward, Jared Weese. He's still looking for the secratary. They'll do a lot of good work together and luckily me and Terra Naffziger are besties, and I love Jared's wife Jen, so I think we'll have to do a lot of EQ Presidency's wives parties when the guys are doing there stuff :)

Poor, sweet Reese. If you guys need a break, you can come down for a visit. I am just tidying up the yard. I hate when kids are sick because they are so sad and helpless.

I'm way excited that the guys are still working together ... they do well together. Eric is going to be awesome - you are an awesome wife with how supportive you are! EQ wife parties sound awesome!

First I don't know how you take her temp, but I found taking it rectally (spell? haha) is much easier on Bailey. I just can't keep her still to do it under the arm and I think when I do it rectally it's just as if I'm changing her diaper. That doesn't mean she doesn't try to crawl away from time to time but I've found it to be easier.

and second, last Thursday we got a call from the Stake President saying he wanted to meet with us. We new our elders quorum was changing in our ward. I can't say I wasn't freaking out. With James still in Law school I just saw no time for this. Well he was called to be the secretary. I was a bit realeved not that it won't take a lot of time but it won't take near as much as the president. So here it goes for elders quorum. That is so cool for your hubby. He will do great. He seems like such a good guy. Don't you love being married to good guys!

You are so sweet!

In a book I read it told me anything higher then 99.6 I believe rectally. But I looked this up online just to double check.

this site:
http://kidshealth.org/parent/general/body/fever.html#

said this: They have a fever if it's any higher then this...
* 100.4° F (38° C) measured rectally (in the bottom)
* 99.5° F (37.5° C) measured orally (in the mouth)
* 99° F (37.2° C) measured in an axillary position (under the arm)

Hope that helps. I just know if it's over 100 it's probably a bit too high and if Bailey is uncomfortable I give her tylenol. If it's over 102 I call the doctor.

CONGRATS on the calling! I HATE when Lily is sick her fever gets UP SO HIGH, before running to the doctor i try to cool her down with a wet cloth and seems to help IB and Tylenol switch off every 3 hours:) SORRY NOT FUN>

Nakita- your pictures are so cute. What kind of camera do you have? I love how clear all your photos are. We dropped our camera in the ocean on our road trip so I need a new one:)
